Data You Give Us Directly
Search Queries
A name or location entered in a search tool is transmitted to the outside provider operating that tool. The provider processes the input and supplies its results. We do not keep or log those search terms on our systems.
Messages and Contact Submissions
We retain an email sent to us as needed to answer it. It remains within our organization unless disclosure is required by a legal obligation.
Data We Gather Automatically
Our servers receive basic technical details when a page loads:
- Page-view timestamps
- Your device's IP address
- Browser name and version
- Operating system and device category
- Pages viewed and time spent on them
- The referring website, when available
Cookies and Analytics
Cookies are small files placed on a device. We use them with analytics services to understand traffic patterns, popular pages, and where visits end. Browser controls can block cookies, although doing so may change how some features work.
What We Do With This Data
- Route a search request to the selected partner service
- Maintain reliable and responsive site operation
- Diagnose errors and other technical problems
- Measure which pages are useful or need improvement
- Display advertising that may reflect visitor interests
No Criminal-Record Data on File
We do not maintain, aggregate, or sell a database of personal criminal records. The content identifies how to request Orangeburg County records from the sheriff, criminal courts, South Carolina Law Enforcement Division, and South Carolina Public Sex Offender Registry. We are not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act. Visitor information is not assembled into a consumer report or a third-party criminal file.
Third-Party Search Partners
Outside companies operate the search boxes. A partner's privacy policy, retention rules, and sharing practices govern information entered there. We do not control those practices, so review the provider's terms before submitting a query.
Links to Other Websites
Links may lead to sheriff pages, court portals, state agencies, legal resources, and outside search services. Once you leave this website, the destination's privacy policy controls. Review it before providing personal information.
Some advertising providers may use cross-site activity to select ads. That activity occurs on the provider's systems.
Who Might See Your Data
We do not sell personal information. Limited data may be available to:
- Analytics vendors measuring traffic and performance
- Search providers processing a query you submit
- Advertising networks serving page ads
- Government or law-enforcement bodies acting under a valid legal order
How We Protect Your Data
Standard safeguards are used for data under our control. No internet service can guarantee perfect security, however, and we cannot promise that a breach will never occur.
Users Under 18
The website is intended for adults, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If we learn that a minor supplied information, we will delete it.
Your Data Rights
Rights may vary with residence. South Carolina law, including the limits on commercial use of specified public information in S.C. Code §30-2-50, may also affect data use. At a minimum, you may:
- Request deletion of your information
- Ask what information we hold about you
- Seek correction of inaccurate information
- Opt out of certain processing where applicable
Updates to This Policy
We may revise this policy. The updated text and a new effective date will be posted here, so visitors should review the page periodically.
